James, apostrophe will search texts on links, while slash will find text anywhere.

BTW, there is an option on the preferences dialog (Options / advanced / General tab / Accessibility groupbox) that let you choose to "search for text when I start to type" (the description is a bit different on older versions of Firefox), which basically removes the need to hit any keystroke at all. Just start typing the phrase you want and it will incrementally search for it. To find other occurrences of the same phrase, just hit F3 and you are good. To cancel/dismiss the (quick) search bar, just press ESC.

Quick find works with the apostrophe(') as well, but I find sometimes it skips parts that ctrl+f finds.
